As an organization that fights for 300+ children—many of which are classified as immunodeficient—it is incredibly important that we take the safety of them, and our members, into account.
We have been in touch with university administration, HERO for Children, and others about the best way to respect the safety of everyone going forward:
All committee meetings will be postponed until UGA returns to normal operating procedures.
All social events for the semester are postponed.
All kid events, including Transition to Adulthood, have been postponed for the remainder of the semester.
All Hangout with HEROs mentorship visits have been postponed for the remainder of the semester.
These measures were taken with an abundance of caution and in accordance with the Center for Disease Control’s guidelines for holding events.
As always, the safety of our members and our kids is our top priority and we encourage all members to stay engaged as we continue our work over the weeks and months ahead.
