In 1996, the Olympics came to Atlanta, Georgia. For the first time in Atlanta’s history, people from all over the world were tuning in. They were giving their attention, their minds, and their hearts to the city that our kids call home.
Now, 23 years later. UGA HEROs is asking you to do the same. We will walk 63 miles, from the city of Atlanta where it all began, back to Athens to light the torch. We are lighting the torch for the families who are infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. For the children who battle the stigma of this disease every day. For the University of Georgia students who call these children and this organization their home.
And we invite you to light the torch with us. See you on October 13th.
