What UGA HERO Dollars do
UGA HEROs supports the 501 (C)3 non-profit organization H.E.R.O. for Children, Inc. H.E.R.O. for Children is the only organization in the State of Georgia that provides quality of life care for children infected with/affected by HIV/AIDS through sustainable programs, connections with the community, and unforgettable experiences. All money raised helps support the SuperHEROs mentoring program and four special events.
The SuperHEROs program is the State of Georgia's only mentoring program for children affected by HIV/AIDS and is in collaboration with Big Brothers Big Sisters. H.E.R.O. for Children pays for all background checks, as well as plans and pays for 12 monthly events throughout the year for all children and SuperHERO mentors to enjoy along with providing four special events throughout the year for all children H.E.R.O. works with.
